Programme Overview
The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) invites applications from unemployed youth who have obtained a Grade 12 or NQF4 equivalent qualification for the 2026/27 Cadet Learnership Programme. This programme will run for a 12-month contract period and is designed as a Youth Development Empowerment initiative supporting the National Development Plan’s objectives. Through theoretical training and experiential learning, this opportunity affords unemployed South African youth the chance to gain skills, knowledge, and experience, thereby positioning them for active participation in the labour market.
Available Learnerships
The learnerships are available in various provinces across South Africa:
- Gauteng: Krugersdorp, Benoni, Cresta, Sedibeng, Mamelodi
- Eastern Cape: King Williams Town, Gqeberha, Libode, Queenstown, East London, Port St John
- North West: Klerksdorp, Mankwe
- Northern Cape: Kimberley, Galeshewe
- Mpumalanga: Witbank, Kwa-Mhlanga, Eerstehoek, Standerton, Nelspruit/Mbombela, White River
- Free State: Bloemfontein, Phuthaditjhaba, Bethlehem
- Western Cape: Wynberg, Khayelitsha, Vredendal, George
- Kwazulu-Natal: Ixopo, New Hanover, Eshowe, Estcourt, Umgeni, Richards Bay
- Limpopo: Polokwane, Giyani, Jane Furse, Thohoyandou, Mokopane
Requirements: A Grade 12/Matric certificate is necessary for eligibility.
Compensation
Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the Cadet Learnership Programme contract.
