Opportunities and Responsibilities
- Training in drawing blood and collecting specimens from patients or donors.
- Attend structured learning and training programmes.
- Prepare for and pass the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) board examination.
- Work 42.5 hours per week as part of the learnership agreement.
- Meet all contractual obligations of the Learnership.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must have a Grade 12 / Matric / National Senior Certificate.
- Achieve minimum scores in English, Life Sciences, Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.
- 0 - 1 year of working experience.
- Skills such as empathy, attention to detail, and customer orientation.
Successful completion allows for registration with HPCSA as a qualified Phlebotomy Technician, opening doors to employment in medical pathology labs and blood donation organisations.
