The learnership opportunity at Ackermans is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of retail operations through practical and theoretical learning. It offers structured work experience paired with structured learning, leading to an SAQA-accredited qualification.
What to Expect

Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service for a great shopping experience.
- Assist shoppers with finding products and handling queries or complaints.
- Perform cashier duties such as processing payments, refunds, and handling transactions.
- Engage in merchandising by ensuring correct pricing, stock availability, and housekeeping.
- Participate in risk management by tagging products and participating in stock takes.
Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Completed Grade 12 (matric).
- Currently unemployed and not studying at any tertiary institution.
- Not registered for any other learnerships.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent customer service skills and communication skills (fluent in English; other languages beneficial).
- High energy levels, tenacity, motivation, and target-driven.
- Previous retail experience is advantageous.
