MQA: Bursaries 2025
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is inviting students to apply for their bursary programmes for the 2025 academic year. MQA is offering two types of bursaries: Unemployed Bursaries and Employed Bursaries.

TVET College Studies:
- Boilermaker
- Electrician
- Fitter and Turner
- Mechatronics
- Millwright
- Welder
The Bursary Will Cover
- Unemployed bursary: Tuition fees, accommodation, books, and meals.
- Employed bursary: Tuition fees and books.
Eligibility Requirements
Unemployed Bursary:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Studying or intending to study towards an undergraduate degree in a relevant field
- Must be unemployed
- Must be in financial need with household income not exceeding R600,000 per annum
- Historically disadvantaged individuals prioritized
Employed Bursary:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Currently employed in the mining and minerals sector
- Planning to pursue a relevant qualification
- Historically disadvantaged individuals prioritized
