Sasol: Mining / Engineering Bursaries 2024
The Sasol Mining Fence-line Bursary Programme seeks to attract outstanding young talent to join the organization. These bursaries support full-time studies leading to a bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) or an Engineering Technology Degree (B.Eng. Tech.) at a recognized South African University. Eligibility is limited to South African Citizens exclusively.
Fields for Study
- Engineering:
- Electrical Engineering (B.Eng.)
- Electronic Engineering (B.Eng.)
- Industrial Engineering (B.Eng.)
- Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.)
- Mining Engineering (B.Eng.)
- Science:
- Geology (B.Sc.) – obtaining an Honours degree is mandatory
- Engineering Technology Degree:
- Mine Surveying (B.Eng. Tech.) at the University of Johannesburg only
Selection Criteria
Bursaries are available to individuals in their 1st to 4th academic year of studies in 2024, pursuing the relevant qualifications or degrees.
- B.Eng. and B.Sc.Eng & Geology:
- Level 6: 70-79% for Mathematics (not Maths Literacy)
- Level 6: 70-79% for Physical Science
- Depending on English level, 60-69% required for language subjects
- B.Eng. Tech. (Mine Surveying):
- Level 5: 60-69% for Mathematics and Physical Science
- Depending on English level, 60-69% required for language subjects
Applicants must be South African citizens with a valid ID document/card. A full academic record and proof of registration are required. Notably, applicants must reside in specified municipalities in Mpumalanga and the Free State.
