Tegkor/ Nelson Mandela University: Bursaries 2024
The Nelson Mandela University is inviting students to apply for the Tegkor / Nelson Mandela University Accounting Bursary. Bursaries will be awarded for Accounting studies (at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level), at the Nelson Mandela University.
Eligible Courses and Bursary Value
1st Year Students
- BCom Accounting
- BCom Accounting Sciences
Funding up to R12 500.
2nd and 3rd Year Students
- BCom Accounting (Chartered Accounting)
- BCom General Accounting
- BCom Accounting Sciences
Funding up to R7 500.
Postgraduate Students
- Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA-CTA)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy (PGDA)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Internal Auditing (PGDIA)
Funding up to R7 500.
Bursary awards will be credited to the bursar's student account and may be used with another bursary or award if declared on the application form.
Eligibility Requirements
1st Year Students
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric with excellent results
- Minimum 80% in Mathematics in Matric or AS of 420
- Admitted for full-time study in BCom Accounting/BCom Accounting Sciences in 2024
- Preference for students in financial need (household income R350,000 to R600,000 p.a.)
2nd and 3rd Year Students
- South African citizen
- Studying full-time in 2024 toward BCom General Accounting or similar
- Minimum average 70% (1st-year modules) or 65% (2nd-year modules)
- Social commitment evidence from 2023
- Preference for students in financial need
Postgraduate Students
- South African citizen
- Full-time Postgraduate study in Accounting at NMU in 2024
- Minimum weighted average of 60% (3rd-year undergraduate) or 55% (PGDA programme)
- Preference for students in financial need
