Western Cape Dept of Health: Bursaries 2025
The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries will be awarded to students residing in the Western Cape for studies towards specific Health Science qualifications.
Health Science Qualifications Supported:
- Nursing
- Medical (MBChB)
- Pharmacy
- Radiography
- Emergency Medical Care
The bursary covers registration fees, tuition fees, and examination fees. Accommodation fees will not be covered.
Successful applicants must sign a full-time bursary contract with the Department and, upon graduation, work for the government. A community service year (if required) will count towards the bursary obligation. Graduates must apply for a post within the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness to fulfill their service commitment.
Eligibility Requirements:
- South African citizenship
- Reside within the Western Cape province
- Completed Matric
- Study or intend to study full time in one of the listed Health Science fields
- Enrolled or awaiting acceptance at an accredited Higher Education Institution
- Enthusiastic, hardworking, and committed
- Willing to complete clinical hours
- Must not have a criminal record
