Programme Overview
AFGRI Equipment is seeking motivated and results-driven candidates for the Apprenticeship Programme 2026 / 2027. This three-year programme offers participants the opportunity to qualify as a Tractor Mechanic or Earthmoving Mechanic through in-service training.
Probation Period
- The first six months serve as a probation period, allowing both the company and apprentice to evaluate suitability.
- Withdrawal during this period is permissible without consequences.
Training Structure
- Attendance at a Practical Training Institute and registration for distance learning subjects may be required.
- Product Training from suppliers or AFGRI specialists and internal training sessions will be provided.
Training Authorities
- Supported by AgriSETA or MerSETA, with contracts binding both parties to one of these SETAs.
Duties of the Apprentice
- Training to become a Tractor or Earthmoving Mechanic
- Repair and maintenance of related equipment
- Stock control and customer service
- General workplace duties
Minimum Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Good communication, administrative skills, and computer literacy
- Grade 12 with English and Mathematics or Technical Mathematics
- Advantageous subjects: Physical Science, Engineering Graphics & Design, Diesel Trade Theory, Motor Trade Theory
