Overview
The Make a Difference Leadership Foundation (MAD) is inviting students to apply for their scholarship awards for the 2027 academic year. These scholarships aim to support scholars throughout their education journey and into their professional lives.
Available Scholarships
- MAD Leadership Scholarship (High School): Covers educational expenses for high school students entering Grade 9 in 2027.
- MAD Leadership Scholarship (STEM or Commerce): Supports undergraduate studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or Commerce fields.
- Mike Ilsley Memorial (MIM) Scholarship: In partnership with FEM Education Foundation, focuses on undergraduate Chartered Accountancy (CA(SA)) studies.
Eligibility Requirements
For High School Scholarship
- Must be a South African citizen currently in Grade 8 (in 2026).
- Entering Grade 9 in 2027 at a public high school in South Africa.
- Total gross household income of not more than R35,000 per month.
- Basic English proficiency, leadership skills, and community service involvement.
For STEM or Commerce Scholarship
- South African citizen currently in Matric or having completed Matric.
- Studying or intending to study a qualification within STEM or Commerce at an accredited South African institution for 2027.
- Minimum overall average of 65% and a passion for studies.
- Household income not exceeding R35,000 per month.
For Mike Ilsley Memorial Scholarship
- South African citizen with completed Matric.
- Studying or intending to study Chartered Accountancy (CA(SA)) at an accredited South African institution for 2027.
- Achieved at least 70% in Financial Accounting. Household income not exceeding R35,000 per month.
- Strong responsibility, leadership traits, and community service involvement.
