The Santam Bursary Programme is designed to cultivate a pool of skilled graduates with technical expertise and leadership competencies. These bursaries are aimed at supporting students in fields like actuarial science, agriculture, engineering, and insurance assessment, ensuring a continuous talent stream for South Africa's growing economy.
Who Can Apply?
- South African citizens.
- Students in their 2nd, 3rd, final year undergraduate, or Honours studies in 2027.
- Fields of study: Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Data Sciences, Statistics, Agriculture, Civil, Geomatics, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Insurance Technical Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Risk Management.
- Minimum 65% academic achievement in undergraduate studies.
- Interest in short-term insurance industry careers.
What the Bursary Covers
- Tuition and registration fees.
- Accommodation costs (deposits, admin fees).
- Learning materials (books, e-manuals).
- Laptops and monthly allowance.
- Travel/transport allowance.
Selection Criteria
Agriculture students must have Microsoft Excel skills, and demonstrate assertiveness, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Preference is given to Employment Equity candidates.
