Brief Description

The main purpose of this position is to manage, govern, and analyse the data ecosystem, ensuring comprehensive insights and driving data rationalisation to enable informed decision-making across the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

Key Responsibilities

• Discover and establish datasets within the context of business value drivers, processes, and data products.
• Identify the data profiles of discovered datasets to determine completeness and compliance, supporting inventory management.
• Implement standards and procedures for data analysis within the SARB.
• Establish relationships between data elements and assess their impact on the business.
• Conduct data analysis to determine various categories of data and information.
• Apply data valuation techniques to assess the importance of the data for business reuse.
• Generate reports, deliver insights, and provide status updates to support data domain management.
• Develop and manage stakeholder relations to promote data management and support decision-making.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in relevant fields like Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent.
• Five to seven years’ experience in a data analysis environment.
• Honours degree or relevant data analytics certification is advantageous.
• Experience with SQL, Python, R, SPSS, MATLAB, SAS, and exposure to integration techniques and big data environments.
• Knowledge of EIM strategy, data quality management, and information governance.
