Brief Description
The main purpose of this position is to install, maintain, repair, and service heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance at the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Head Office.
Detailed Description
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and checks on HVAC equipment.
- Perform fault-finding and corrective maintenance on systems.
- Apply statutory principles to adhere to safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
- Respond to HVAC-related breakdowns and emergencies promptly.
- Assist in vendor selection and manage work orders.
- Provide technical guidance and supervise HVAC contractors.
- Contribute to maintenance plans and operational budgets.
- Engage positively with stakeholders and address performance gaps.
Job Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12 Certificate (mandatory)
- Valid Trade Test Certificate in refrigeration and/or air-conditioning
- N4 qualification in refrigeration or equivalent technical qualification
- Authorised Refrigeration Practitioner license from SAQCC
- National Diploma in Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration (advantageous)
- 3-5 years' experience in a technical trade environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Must reside within 60 minutes of the workplace or be willing to relocate
- Experience in service maintenance of air-conditioning units and centralised chiller systems
