The South African Reserve Bank is seeking a Lead for Domestic Scheme and Rules Management in its National Payment System Department (NPSD) based in Pretoria. This role requires management of compliance with rules for direct participation in the SAMOS system.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and review the effectiveness of settlement rules and payment schemes.
- Coordinate governance structures and forums.
- Investigate and ensure corrective action for non-compliance.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and engagements.
- Stay abreast of developments affecting policies, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
Candidates must have:
- An honours degree in finance, law, or risk management.
- Five to eight years of experience in banking, payments, or risk management environments.
- Knowledge of national payment systems and relevant legislation.
- Skills in managing complexity, sound decision-making, and stakeholder relationships.
The main purpose is to support the compliance and governance of the RTGS system within domestic markets.
