The main purpose of this position is to guide, coordinate and integrate information management practices and business processes within the Economic Statistics Department and across the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Group to support reliable and effective decision-making.
Key Performance Areas
- Take responsibility for business-as-usual (BAU) resource planning and management to ensure effective delivery and business continuity by balancing demand and supply across projects.
- Develop secure lifecycle management, storage and processing pipelines for national statistical assets.
- Create standards, frameworks, guidelines, processes, and procedures for data management capabilities within the department.
- Implement data management standards, data definitions, and access rules to ensure consistency.
- Establish data management indicators to track data- and economic statistics-related issues.
- Assess and enhance data management maturity within the economic statistics domain.
- Identify deliverables and resources to meet business data management demands.
- Advise on business continuity and recovery plans.
- Align with frameworks and standards such as GSIM and GSBPM.
- Provide integrated reporting on enterprise information management operations.
- Manage team performance and support career development.
Requirements
- An honours degree (NQF level 8) in computer engineering, computer science, informatics, management information systems, or related field.
- Relevant data management certification, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Practitioner.
- 8-10 years of relevant data and information management experience.
- 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
Additional Skills
- Knowledge in business continuity planning, information management strategy, and enterprise information management legislation.
- Skills in business intelligence software such as MicroStrategy, Pyramid, OBISS, and Microsoft Power BI.
